Wow!
When we couldn’t have our hands-on STEAM Fair because of COVID we had to come up with a new plan and STEAM Fair in-a-box was created.
300 boxes were sent out and over the course of four days more than 4,000 people downloaded the ingredients list and either watched live presentations, or prerecorded instructions for 20 different STEAM based activities.
Many thanks to the professionals who gave their time and agreed to be interviewed for the STEAM Fair.
Trina L. Martin, MBA. CEO of Trina L. Martin International. A tech company that consults with businesses to help them with their information technology and digital transformation.
Nakiya Showell, M.D., M.H.S., M.P.H., Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Pediatrician, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, discussed what a career in healthcare looks like
Tammy Domanski, Ph.D. Director Environmental Center Anne Arundel Community College explored the ins and outs of science- combining work in the lab and out in the field.
Eric Day from Anne Arundel County Public Schools will be answered questions about the four different Magnet programs in AA County.
Surprisingly kids waited, as instructed, to open their boxes until the first night of the STEAM Fair and they promptly went to work, sending photos and videos of their completed projects. They tagged us in tons of photos and videos showing off their projects (see below and at the bottom.)
All interviews and instructions are posted at ChesapeakeFamily.com/STEAM and available for viewing or downloading on demand.
Thanks to sponsors St Anne’s School of Annapolis, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Chesapeake Arts Center, Girls Scouts of Central Maryland, Mathnasium and Severn School.
Thanks again to everyone who participated to making our STEAM Fair in a Box a success!
