STEAM Fair in Annapolis kicks off at 11 a.m. on September 29th with exhibits and activities for kids of all ages and abilities. Each activity is designed to allow kids to create, problem solve or design while having fun and introducing them to a potential career.
Sponsored by St. Anne’s School of Annapolis and Chesapeake Family Life.
Special activities include a paper airplane flight contest where students construct a paper airplane out of provided supplies and then fly the planes on a marked course. Winners announced every 30 minutes.
Lego Pinewood Derby cars will be available to build a race down a track. It is free to build and race the cars, the only fee is if you want to take your car home.

Thumbprint Bugs
Make emoji’s (typical or custom)
Demonstrations on Paint Pouring
Design and build air-powered rockets
Oyster Filter Power station.
3D printing and computer modeling to design a cookie cutter
Build your own wind turbine and then test it in a wind tunnel to see how much weight it can actually lift.
Peanut Butter Flossing Challenge
Build boats and test their ability to float and carry loads
create an LED bookmark by exploring paper circuits
Design your very own Sail Car
Students are encouraged to discover, experiment and imagine endless possibilities using Magna Tiles, Caterpillar Bits, Interlocking Builders Blocks, Clip Connects, gears and more.
Explore symmetry, patterns in nature (big and small!), and the importance of plants with a sensory table, microscope, and leaf art.
Participate in math games that rely on critical thinking, problem solving, and math skills
Make a parachute
Build-A-Buoy. See if you have what it takes to create a buoy that can hold up to 50 golf balls.
Using your senses to identify things in nature.
Knot Tying
The STEAM Fair will be held from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 29 at Annapolis Area Christian Middle School at 716 Bestgate Road, Annapolis. More information is available at SteamMaryland.com, or call 410-263-1641.
